Elvis Comes To Prince

Elvis Presley impersonators have been everywhere lately.

Gordon Brown the former prime minister had one on his general election campaign, trying to drum up support and boost morale for the despondent Labour Party. And now, an award-winning Indian Restaurant the Prince of India in Faversham, Kent, UK, has invited an Elvis to rock the southeast.

ELVIS COMES TO PRINCE OF INDIA

Performer Scott Elvis will perform on “Elvis By Request” on Tuesday 9th of June, next month.

He is highly regarded as one of the southeast’s top tribute acts. The former roofer has been a full-time professional performer for several years. His TV appearances include an episode on BBC1′s popular ‘Casualty’ series, in which a coach load of Elvis impersonators en route to competition were involved in a serious traffic accident.

His unique ‘Elvis By Request’ act is particularly renowned by Elvis aficionados for his interpretations of ‘The King’s’ early years including, Heartbreak Hotel,
Hound Dog, Don’t Be Cruel, Love Me Tender, Blue Shoes, jail House Rock and Teddy Bear

A three-course set menu is served at 8.00pm and the performance begins at 8.45pm. Tickets cost £19.95 including a three-course set menu dinner. Booking is essential as Prince of India’s music nights invariably sell out.

The Prince of India is the current holder of two major culinary honours – Kent Restaurants Awards’ Best Take Away and the Ethical Good Food Awards’ Best Indian & Bangladeshi Restaurant.

WHY THE PRINCE?

The Prince of India first opened its doors in December 2006, quickly carving a reputation for authentic, high quality Indian cuisine.

Run by a partnership of two experts in their chosen fields, the Prince of India prides itself in using only the highest quality ingredients with a service to match. Award-winning Chef Shahjahan Ahmed, poached from one of Canary Wharf’s top restaurants, adds his unique flare to the menu.

Juanad ‘Raj’ Abdin provides the restaurants personality, bringing 10 years’ experience of running successful Indian restaurants. Prince of India’s menu includes a number of authentic Bangladeshi fish recipes such as the Bowal in its Fish Bhuna, Chital Kofta minced fish balls, Roopchanda Ocean and has a number of scallop, squid, trout and salmon options plus its signature dish, the Prince of India Sea Food Safari – an infusion of scallops, squid, king prawn marinated and cooked in Bhuna spices.

The restaurant’s recently introduced cookery classes are also proving popular. Group size is limited to 5 students. People can join an existing group or form their own with friends. Private one-on-one tuition is also available for £50 for one session or £200 for a six-week programme. Group sessions cost £35 per person for a one-off or £175 for 6 lessons. Prices include ingredients for a meal for two people with a side dish and rice, which they can then take-away or eat in the restaurant. The restaurant has Monday and Thursday night banquets for £9.95

It delivers to Faversham, Boughton, Painter Forstal, Selling, Oare, Dunkirk and Luddenham. Delivery is free within 3-mile radius on orders over £13. There is a 10% discount on orders over £13. All take-away orders receive free popadoms and chutney. A free side dish is added to orders exceeding £25 a free bottle of wine is given on all takeaways over £40. Open 7 days a week, 12.00 to 02.30 and 17.30 to 23.00.
